Rajasthan State Industrial and Investment Corporation (RIICO), a State Government agency has developed more than 300 industrial areas with water, power, roads, shops and telecommunication facilities across the State.

• Two product-specific SEZs have also been established, one at Jaipur for Gems & Jewellery and another at Jodhpur for handicrafts.
• Three Export Promotion Industrial Parks (EPIPs) have been set up at Jaipur, Alwar and Jodhpur.
• Theme Parks (Special Purpose Industrial Parks) for specific industries with special set of infrastructure and facilities relevant to those industries, have been set up.

Private Special Economic Zones (SEZs)

• A multi-product SEZ, Mahindra World City, is being setup in joint venture between RIICO and Mahindra Gesco Developers Ltd. at Jaipur. Its IT/ITES zone is also being set up within the SEZ, development work of which is in process. Infosys and Wipro have already firmed up their investments in the IT zone. Investments to the tune of Rs.14000 crore are being expected in the SEZ.
• Formal Approvals have been accorded to 4 other private SEZs
• Genpact Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. (IT/ITeS SEZ) at Jaipur
• Somani Worsted Limited (IT/ITeS SEZ) at Bhiwadi
• Vatika Jaipur SEZ developer Ltd. (IT/ITeS SEZ) at Jaipur
• Mansarovar Industrial Development Corporation (Handicraft SEZ) at Jodhpur
• These SEZs are expected to generate employment for over 2 lakh persons.
• Further, eleven SEZs have been given an in-principal approval from the Government of India.
